The Government of Maharashtra with the co-operation of Government of India is developing the existing Nagpur airport as Multimodal International Passenger and Cargo Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) Project, Metro Rail and Mono Rail. They are following the consultant’s report for the development of  the airport, Metro Rail and other allied facilities.

This project is supported by the following development. :-

  • IT Park Health City
  • Manufacturing Units
  • Captive Power Plant
  • Rail Road Terminal
  • International School
  • Leading IT companies and other industrial and manufacturing companies have already booked the land in MIHAN, SEZ. Some of them are –M/s Satyam Computer Services Ltd, M/s Shapoorji Pallonji & Co., M, L/s & T Infocity, L & T, DLF& Many more. Other companies which have registered their demands for land are Max Aerospace, Go Air, Tata Consulting Services, Patni Computer Systems Ltd. Etc.
    Road and Rail Terminal spread over 400 Acres as a logistical center taking geographical advantages of Nagpur.
     
Upcoming Employment and housing potential of Nagpur:-

  • Mihan will provide direct employment to 150,000 people and indirectly provide employment to 300,000 people.
  • Additionally, the combined employment potential of the various upcoming SEZ’s in the area around BUTIBORI industrial estate will provide employment to another 500,000 people.
  • This means, around 4million additional people will migrate and inhabit the surroundings of MIHAN within the next 5-10years.
  • This has created a huge demand for real estate, homes, malls, multiplexes etc. Hence this is the right time to go for projects to satisfy this huge demand for housing and infrastructure.
Here are some of the areas already in operation in and around MIHAN:-

  3. ACC Cement, Voltas, KEC International, Inforama Synthetic India Ltd., Welworth, Morarji Brembana Ltd., Skg Refactors Ltd., these are few prominent industries which are working at present in the Butibori industrial area.
